I just bought a 98 2500, Cummins 4x4 with 82,000 on it. The dealer is trying to sell me an extended warranty. Anybody got any ideas about extended waranties? Can anybody suggest some good ones?
Robert, I dont know but doesnt a extended warrenty go to 100k miles??? if that is the case I would say it aint worth it, also at 82k all your bugs should be worked out all ready, as for me I bought one bran new , needed the warenty once on the lift pump , got disgruntled with the dealer saying it could take up to 4 days to get parts and get me going again I said no thanks , bought a CUMMINS pump and had it going in less than an hour... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . The stealer sucked , I know there are good ones out there and therefore when I buy the wife a new Intrepid next year I WILL get it elsewhere. JMO... ... ... ... ... Kevin
I purchased a warranty Gold platinum warranty. It costs about the same as a dealer offered program and can be used anywhere. No deductable. The best part is if the warranty is never used they refund the cost minus 10% at the end. I couldn't pass it up. I've used it twice on my 12 Valver. Once for a TPS and once to have the pump removed and a new shaft seal installed and retimed. I think I already got my moneys worth out of it.
