I installed a Vulcan big line kit on an '02 and all went well. Nice kit! I bled the system at the inj pump and noticed the pump is louder from the start. Is this normal??

When you just hit the starter to run the pump for 30 seconds, the pump running alone is alot louder.

I just did the install on my '02 and I have the same noise. From what I understand, that's normal. We just never noticed it before because it was so close to the motor.

Yes it will be nosier because the engine noise isnt overwhelming it. That and the fact that its mounted on the frame which amplifies the noise. Put some dynamat under the mounting bracket and it will quiet it down a little bit

yup, the frame is acting like a giant tuning fork. you can dynamat the mounts, you can rubber grommet the mounting holes for the pump. Keep this in mind though, when it is buzzing, you know it's running. I was able to detect a defective pump because the noise was inconsistant before I even got back in the truck one morning while it was warming it up, a quick double check of the pressure guage confirmed what my ears were hearing, I then switched to a FASS pump only system and it is quieter, now I rely totally on the guage.
