Aftermaket Stereo / Dimmer

Put a real nice Clarion touch screen with nav and blue tooth in my ST, love it but one thing bugs me, cant figure out how to get the display to dim with the dash lights. To bright at nite and to dim in day unless I adjust it manually which is another reason to take my eyes off the road. Anyone know what wire I would tap into from the factory wire harnes. The radio has an orange and white "illumination wire". Saw on a harger web site somone recomended tapping into a purple wire on the passanger kick panel (pin 26 in a brown wire clip) for a Dodge charger.

3/4 of the way thru the video. . not too easy to understand tho. .

I checked for some wiring diagrams, and it looks like the factory dimmer is controlled by the CAN bus system. I`m not liking how much computer control is used in these newer trucks. . Hell, even the horn is controlled indirectly by the computer, I cant 'tap' my horn like I used to in the 05. It only gives a 1sec burst at minimum. . hate it.

Thanks, I did not see anything like that on the 10 but will look again. Dito on the overcomputerizing, still hate the throttle delay on the manual#@$%!.
