I need to replace the condenser on my 08. The prices are all over the place! From $60 to over $300. Not wanting to buy junk but also not wanting to spend more than necessary I'm kinda stumped about what to order. Of course every single site says their parts meet or exceed OEM specs:confused:

Do you guys (and gals!) have any opinions to offer?
Thanks all for your thoughts,

John

I'd bet money that the unit now on your truck is made off shore.... and I'd consider one from off shore...

Think about this... you make and sell 2 million cars in a year... I don't know of a manufacturer in the US with the capacity to make that many for one car manufacturer... let alone for several lines of cars.... I tried to discover where Federal Mogul makes items I purchased from them... and all I ever got back from them was that they are an American Company and manufacture in the US... later in the Apex Show... runs the same time as SEMA I found that the manufacture is off shore and ships to the US in bulk and Federal Mogul on that item packages it here in the US.... and the US package is not marked... nor was the product.... Just my thoughts....

Yes, that is true, many items that OEM uses, is made in other Countries, to include China. But they are manufactured to their standards and tested/inspected for the quality needed to make sure the OEM equipment/parts are to standard.

A good example of this, is a picticular HVAC set of gauges & manifold with hoses can be made in china, but they meet the standards of the company. Then you have a set of HVAC hoses that the Chinese made and are sold in the US for 20 bucks that are normally 100 bucks, and with 2000psi rating on the hoses, can't even survive 100psi. I know because the Tightwad of an Owner of a tech school I used to teach for, bought them to save money. They were all useless in less than a month, and it was the eye-opener I needed to think about leaving that school. The main reason I thought that way (quitting) was because I had set up a deal with a major HVAC manifold/gauge set company and was scolded for interfering with his company by sticking my nose into his business. It was an awesome deal, because the company was willing to sell them at cost. They knew the students would like them and probably buy their better sets when they entered the workforce.

If its to good to be true? It probably isn't.
