I have a set of threaded, adjustable control arms I have had sitting around for quite some time. I bought them unused on ebay years ago. No instructions. No manufacturer identified.

The ends on two of them are slightly different widths than the other two. Two of them have left-hand thread; two have right hand. They all use a large jam-nut on the threaded male shaft.

Which end goes to the frame: the threaded male end or the female sleeve? And does that hold true for both the lower and upper arms?

Thanks for any help!

Scott

Sounds like skyjacker single flex arms.

The fixed end goes in the frame side and the adjustable goes to the axle. The larger end ones go on the bottom with the smaller ones going on the top.

Thanks, Mark!!

I would have guessed wrong, then, and installed the fixed end at the axle.

Each pair, upper and lower, have different thread directions.

i. e. One upper and one lower have right hand thread; and one upper and one lower have left hand thread.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why or what difference which sides they are installed on might make. Maybe the same-thread upper and lowers are not even supposed to be installed on the same side as a pair. . ?

i. e. A left-hand thread upper paired with a right-hand thread lower and vice versa?

Any thoughts on the thread direction vs. position on the truck?

Well, Skyjacker's website, even the installation instructions for their many, many parts and kits, is not very helpful to me on this issue.

At this point I think I will just put the adjustable ends towards the axle and put the right-hand thread arms on the right side and the left-hand on the left for lack of any reason not to.

You have to unbolt one end to adjust them anyway, so I cannot fathom a reason for the different threads...
