Same old symptoms, "Airbag" light came on, and Cruise controls quit at the same time. Dodge want's too much for a new clock spring, anybody know of a source yet? Doorman was supposed to thave them on the shelves at the auto parts stores in fourth quarter of '05, but of course that never happened. They were supposed to run around $50 bucks. I'm about tired of waiting, but hate to pat $175 at Dodge, than see them for $50 soon after. What's a guy to do?

There was a recall on the clockspring - don't know if your truck is covered.

You could always go into the dealer and demand a clockspring. Take the TSB with you and tell them if they don't give you one you'll start a campaign with the NHTSA and hold them liable if any driver is injured in your rig. Demand to talk to the district manager. That should get them into a negotiating mood. Then offer them the $50.

Recall 982 (Clockspring Recall) is for model year 2001. Check your PM.

What does check your PM mean?

I have a 2001 and it failed this past summer. I have not replaced it yet. It has not turned on the air bag light, but it ended my steering wheel controls for the radio and my cruise.
