Anyone using them? I need another set of balljoints, and I'm not about to put in a 4th set of OEM's.

Napa has TRW but they are not greasable. Anyone had luck with these?

I know moog has uppers, but they are adjustable. I don't need adjustable ones.

I just ordered my ball joints from NAPA last night... . The guy working at my local NAPA is very helpful! They just started making greasable ball joints... . However, there is no way to tell if you will get them when you order them. They still have old stock in some places. He told me that it would be a coin toss. He even asked the guy in the warehouse to open the boxes to see... . he said "No". I took my gamble, I should know by Thursday.

What happened ?

I am interested in this also, as I have to replace them on my '03 4x4 and don't want to have to use the OEM parts.

Any news on the parts?

Get the MOOG adjustable uppers from carquest. They are greaseable and lifetime warranty. Still nothing for greaseable lowers yet. If you search I did a post about the MOOG's I installed.

There is surely no excuse for a Co. like D/C to have such poor showing and quality in their parts. The older generation trucks did not have these failures at these low mileages.

After driveing Hwy 80 out here from the Bay Area to Reno, I have to speculate how long this 04 3rd. gener is going to last in the front end dept. compared with my old 1st gener truck.

Already replaced the "chewing gum wrapper" OEM front bumper with a Reunel front bumper. The rear bumper will be replaced next.

With the $ we pay for these new trucks, the Daimler Co. could have done better. Would like to think that the CEO's in this company would take an occasional glance at these forums. Thank goodness they are equipped with a good engine.

Umm, spicer sent a bunch of bad joints back around 99 (my dad got a set) that were IMO, never greased from the manufacturer... there was a TSB about it... symptoms were tight steering and failure of the steering to return to center... my dad's truck ate ALL FOUR balljoints before 90k...

So, don't feel this is a "3rd gen"-only thing.

As far as greaseable joints...

I was quoted $360 for both sides (upper and lower) at a local Napa and his book specified they were greaseable. He stated they would be Napa's brand but either TRWs or Moogs.

This was about 3 months ago...
