Sure am glad I got one now.

My bumper is one of those heavy black wraparound bumpers for the dually.

Yesterday, a woman came out of freeway u-turn intending on running across three lanes of traffic into a parking lot. Unfortunately, se didn't see this HUGE 1 Ton dually with Huge black steel bumpers in one of those lanes.

Well, she just clipped the rear of my truck. I pulled over half expecting to see my dually fender cracked and a bit of damage to the bumper. Got out and looked, NOTHING. Not even a scratch. Didn't even chip the paint.

Her truck on the other hand will need some work, broke her headlight/running light assembly, the edge of my bumper caught the bumper and pulled a few things loose there as well.

If that bumper wasn't there, she would have done a considerable amount of damage to the rear side of my truck without a doubt.

Looks good and can take a hit. :D :D

I'm guesing you have the Ranchhand version. How much was that thing? What is the towing capacity of the hitch? I really like the way it wraps around the sides to protect the fenders.

Actually, it's a Brown's Welding Bumper. They are a little welding outfit out of New Braunsfeld, TX. I got it at dealers cost so I'm not sure how much they are retail. I believe the towing cap is 10,000lbs because the hitch is built into the bumper. I had to beef up the bolting system.

I talked to Toughcountry the other day and thier prices were great as well.

Cool that Curtis. I dont have the rear wrap around bumper but I have a big daddy on the front. Long story short..... mine was able to basically disect a small car that ran a red light. Right behind the driver door was the point of impact at around 50MPH. Car was nearly in two pieces after the smoke cleared.

Dumb lady lived and was ok... she did loose control of her bladder though.

I've got the Tough country front replacement bumper on my Cummins. it's built by Mark's Machine Shop in El Campo, Texas. I Love It!! It has a distinctive Look. I don't have a picture of my truck but here is one from their website. www.toughcountry.com

I have the Ranch hand and couldn't be happier. I had it spot welded to be sure it wouldn't move. I overloaded a 14k trailer w/telephone poles once and it took it like a champ. Its got scrathes now but is save a fender more than once.

Great piece of gear.

I was cruising in my '54 Chebby 3/4 ton a few years ago, before I got my Dodge/Cummins, and a cop pulled out, code 3, from a side street causing me to slam on my brakes. Chebby had a '50's no-name welding-shop rear wrap-around bumper... 1/4 inch steel with an added hitch which stuck out behind about 12 inches. Oh Yeah!

Well, as I say, the cop pulls out, I slam on my brakes and a Ford full of Mexican Gang Members rear ended me. Naturally I start to pull over, to exchange info, even though I KNOW my bumper wasn't hurt in the least, but the Mexican Gang Members backed up and sped around me. As they went around me I could see one headlight was gone and their grill and bumper were beaten in real bad. :D :p :)

So I chased them down and about 2 miles later caught them at a stop light. I pulled beside them and rolled down my pass side window and yelled out "You guys OK?" They wouldn't look at me and tried to pretend that nothing had happened so I jump out and stood near the front of my truck admiring the work my bumper had done on them and started commenting loudly, "Oh Yeah!!! Man you're gonna a grill... and a bumper... and some trim... "

Light turned green and they peeled out! I laughed my butt off!

Damage to Chebby? Black paint on rear bumper scratched a leetle bit!

If those aluminum bumpers weren't coming out of Denver, I'd say, what is the deal with Texas? You guys have all the best bumper-welder-fabricators!

There is a huge market for BIG bumpers in Texas. So many deer on the highway and cows that wont stay behind their fence so ya gotta put a fence on your truck.
