Anyone ever put new carpeting in their truck... . ?

I have a 'stripper' and it HAD the rubber mat... . that's gone... . holding in water, ugly, etc.

I need a new custom-molded carpet... plug and play style... . anyone have good luck with one brand/model/color/style/etc?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Don't use DC for a carpet

I have been waiting since June 6th( new truck delivery day) for a replacement carpet. Seems there is a vendor problem ... or is it just DC??

Oops!

(Hey moderator(s)... . sorry about that... . I never thought to put my post in this forum, my bad. )

Anywho, I'm going to look for some of the aftermarket stuff like J. C. Whitney and so on... . wish me luck!

DC is good for a lot of stuff, but I guess carpet isn't one of 'em!

I'll try to share my experience, hopefully it will help you. I replaced my carpet with carpet from Auto Custom Carpets. My research showed that they have the best aftermarket carpet. I feel that may be true, but aftermarket carpet is not even close to factory carpet. Aftermarket carpet does not have the thick rubber backing that factory carpet has. Which means you lose sound deadening properties and anything spilled goes right through and lays on the floor whereas it would have laid against the rubber and just dried without letting the floorboards get wet. The color didn't match, not there fault, they only have so many stock colors. You can pay extra for custom colors though. I spent $160 for aftermarket, I could have had factory for $225. Till it was all set and done, I burned the aftermarket carpet and still ended up buying factory, so it really cost me $385 to replace my carpet. Don't make the same mistake I did. BTW, it only took 3 days for blue carpet to come from DC.

Whaaa??

3 Days??

I saw the MOPAR screen... they do not have so much as a vendor production date for the agate. (much less a known vendor)

Blue... hhmmmmm... nah, wouldn't look too good.

Hey Holeshot Holset, if you get the rubber floor covering out in 1 piece, I'd be interested in buying it from you. I just bought a '97 that has really stained carpet, and I want the rubber flooring.

Okay... . DC carpet it is.

I'm pretty sure I can get a good deal on it..... $225 isn't all that bad.

I want the sound deadening and heat insulating factors of a nice thick carpet... . plus I don't want my floorboards wet again... . but I have a good solution for that anyhow... . stainless hardware, nutserts, and sprayed-in goop to keep the corrosion down... .

Thanks a million for your help!

{Randy... drop me an email through my profile info page... I don't want to give it out on the forums to non-subscribers that might be reading... I only have one email address and I like it relatively spam-free. }
