I'm thinking of going with a Transfer Flow tank for greater fuel capacity.

Does anyone know if its possible to calibrate the computer either with the STAR scan or aftermarket controller?

I believe the fuel gage will read correctly but on the Transfer Flow site they say they do not have the means to recalibrate the computer.

I checked with the dealer and with a tech for DC friend of mine and both said that the star scan does not go that deep into the programing so they could not do it.

I think the overhead MPG is based on fuel burned (per the PCM - powertrain control module) - so I don't think there is a need to reprogram anything w/ a aftermarket tank.

The overhead should be computing miles to empty based on current fuel flow and remaining fuel based on the capacity of the original tank. The TF kit may correctly show % of fuel remaining correctly, but the overhead will compute miles to empty based on a 34 or 35 gallon capacity. I doubt very much that Dodge made any provisions for adjusting this.

215 mph I'll bet the adrenaline was gushing for 10 minutes afterwards holy smokes. I would have been drooling and lacking motor skills for a good 30 min...

All of our aux. fuel tanks pump fuel into the main tank so that the factory system can be used to supply fuel to the truck... . we install a one way check and pump to move fuel from our 120 gal aux tanks in the bed to the main tank... . our only connection to the main tank is to tee into the vent line... .

Hope this helps... .

Thanks guys,

I'm thinking of pulling the OEM 36 GL tank and replacing with a 56g tank.

The leer cap I have on the bed is glass all the way to the cab. so I dont have the 4" of panel needed to install a filler thru the cap wall. I'm not sure I can afford to lose the 18" of bed space required for a tank in the bed.

Do you know of anyone who has done this? Links? Pictures? I would love to see that as a 50+ gal tank would be sweet... just need to figure out what to do with the spare tire.

When i installed my two piece 65 gal Aero tank the small 18 gal donut tank goes in the spare tire well and the spare tire sits on the tank and dropping 6" lower, now looking at it from the rear of the truck you can see part of the spare tire sort of like looking at a Chevy truck from behind.

the fuel tank I'm looking at is the Transfer Flow. no donut ,It appears to just fill the space where the OE tank goes but longer and a tad deeper.
