Is the aftermarket transmission pan from Mopar, with drain plug and sending unit plug, the same depth or deeper than the stock 47RE pan? Is it a good replacement for the stock 47RE pan?

Call Mag-hytec for their aftermarket pan. It will be available in a "deep" version end of Feb and has increased capacity, increased cooling, temp port, drain plug, and is made to very high engineering standards. You will not be disappointed. I am on the waiting list. www.mag-hytec.com

As for the Mopar unit... I do not know - sorry.

I bought an aftermarket aluminum pan from the Mopar performance catalog(thru the dealer). It is deeper than the stock one, holds 2 more quarts(I believe), is quite well made, and half the price of the other aftermarket brand mentioned. A small piece of tin can be epoxied to the bottom to hold a magnet.

I just received my mopar performance pan from UPS today. It's a really well made piece. It measures 3 3/4" deep and claims to adds 2 qt to the factory a518 pan. The part # is p4876444. It has a 1/4" temp sending port and a larger drain plug fitting. The directions specifically say the 727 pan part # p5007348 will not fit due to a clearance problem so be careful. I paid $120 for mine with shipping(if anyone is interested e-mail me and I'll e-mail you the guys name I got mine from, I think he has 2 more. )FYI he claims there's been a price increase on them from mopar as of Jan to over $200 a pan. Also, anyone have a recommendation for a good brand of OE transmission filter. Thanks.

Josparx and Terry C-----hefty cast aluminum, or pressed sheet aluminum? I ask
'cuz there's a certain torque level (attainable!) #ad
where the MagH-pan doubles as a stiffener to decrease/prevent transmission-case deformation #ad
)... . for BOMBing past 800lbft that might be an "issue"... . rm

I've have the Mopar Performance transmission pan on my truck. It is a heavy cast aluminum pan with cooling fins and drain plug. Similar to the Mag-hytec pan, but lots cheaper. Pretty sure it holds two extra quarts of transmission fluid.

I haven't seen a mag-hytec pan in person so I can't compare the two, but the MP pan is a very heavy cast aluminum. More beefy than a B+M one I had on a camaro several years back.

hmmmmmmmm... . if order both a diff cover AND a transmission pan from MH, they knock off $20 (as of a few months ago, at least)... save $100 on a chrysler, that pays for 1/2 of the MH diff cover... ... i like it #ad

Hi Folks,

Well I have seen the Mag HiTech pan and HAVE the Mopar preformance pan. Nice heavy casting, drain plug, port for temp sender, and finned on the bottom, with the words Mopar Preformance. Mine did include a spacer for dropping the filter and a new gasket... ... but did not include new bolts.

For the cost, $120 including shipping from Mopar for Less, I'm a very happy camper. #ad
