Adding aftermarket steering wheel

I am considering adding a aftermarket overdrive to my truck and am wondering if anyone has done this yet to any high HP/Torque rams yet. If so, what is your approximate power, how much weight do you tow and how often, and which overdrive unit do you use? Thanks

I had a 96 12v with a Gear vendors under-over drive and it was awsome! Had a TST power kit #6 plate. I haven't put it on my 01. 5 YET! but will. The 96 had around 240 hp and 615 tq and towed a 9000lb trailer. The over drive unit is rated at 30'000gwr. It's an awsome unit to split gears! :D

Not every product out there is flawless, even some of are cummins engines will fail. I personally know of two people who use them on there dragsters and with proper maintence they can last, no problems with mine on old 96 truck and had 95000 miles on it!:)

Please note that the GearVendors unit is not recommended for towing when an exhaust brake will be used in the GearVendors "engaged" position. For an application where an exhaust brake will be used in towing heavy loads with the overdrive/underdrive unit engaged, I'd look at the U. S. Gear unit.

I have a US gear and it only has about 40k on it but I have been running at least 300hp the hole time and am now up to 420hp and have had no problems at this time.

Floor it, in addition to the linked thread, I have heard of numerous Gear Vendors units failing prematurely (maintenance intervals and GCVW ratings were not exceeded).

Thanks John and others, I might send mine back for a check up. So far I haven't ever towed anything heavy down the highway in double overdrive. I just use it in double OD when not towing and then use it to split gears while towing in colorado, It's worked great so far, hope I haven't jinxed myself!
