I have an '03, 3500-SWR, QC, HO, stock steel wheels and tires, with 28,000 miles. I just noticed a very slight "smudge" of what might be oil on the left-front stock shock. The truck seems to ride O. K. Just wondering if it's time to consider new shocks? I've been hearing about the Bilstein"s and the Rancho 9000's. I would, very much, appreciate Your opinions and suggestions. Also, where's the best place to buy them? Thanks, in advance, for Your help. Joe F.

I put Bilsteins on my 94 because my Tundra rides and handles so well with them. They transformed the truck. I'll be putting them on my 03 at the first sign of weakness in the OEM shocks.

I have the "OEM" bilsteins on my '97. They are a firm shock, but I like them. I bought them through Autozone. Non-stock item (at least here), but they can order them.

Shocks

I had the Bilsteins before on a 4x4 half ton truck I bought new in 95 an did like them, never had any problems in 69K miles that I owned the truck. I myself am considering going with the Rancho 9000 when it comes time to change shocks for the adjustibility. Had Rancho's on antoher truck back in the early eighty's, but they were the 5000's an never had any problems with those either. I think that 4wheelparts runs specials on them every so often buy 3 get one free deal.
