I hooked up a pioneer 2500 cd player and im having problems with what to do with the illumination wire from the installation wire kit. The pioneer doesnt have a built in dimmer. So when i hook the illumination to the hot wire it leaves the dash lights on even if the switch is in the off position. The only time it goes off is if i turn the key off. What do i do. 2003 2500

Pioneer

Check the owners manual for your Pioneer, Ive owned several in the past and have one in my 1st gen right now. The dimmer in my deck has to be accessed by shutting off the stereo, then holding down the "function" button for three seconds. This brings me up to another menu where I can select "Dimmer on". Then simply hook the "illumination" wire into your dash light circuit. Hope this helps, sorry if it doesn't.

It's the same with both Pioneer units I have.
