Hey guys i am looking to get the jbl stealthbox under my back seat. I have the flat folding black thing there right now... do i have to remove this in order to get the stealthbox in there??
Yep its got to go. My friend was going to give me his but when he told me I had to take the flat folding storage thingy out to put it in and I was like welp see ya latter thats one of the things I like best about the quad cab.
Pretty simple to remove, just ollk at it. If you take both sides out there's plenty of people looking to buy fold flat load floors on tdr. Look in classifieds. I mounted a box under seat with amps, and sold my load floor.
I will buy your fold flat floor if you decide to sell it.
But here is idea that may not require removing floor. I installed 10" Polk subs in my 96 and they would easily work in the 03. You need to get the right ones, they require an airspace same size as the box they come in.
Can't make one for the 3rd gen. The area under the seat used in previous model for the box is actually another storage area in the 3rd gen. Really nice. I like it.
You guys are right on the money. The Stealth box under the "small front seat" does not fit the 3Gs. The 3G stealth box will only fit under the rear seat and you must remove the large portion of the fold out floor.
No way. The seat actually comes down on top of the box just a little bit. Load floor would never fit. I took both sides out so I could mount my amps on drivers side. Can't have both, pick one.
I am running an Alpine 500. 1 class d mono sub amp. Little to big to fit on the load floor for mounting. Tried that. A smaller amp would have been nice. Sometimes I kinda wish the load floor was there, but then I remember I have an 8' load floor a little farther back
I looked at the JL box. It is very nice but pricey. I built my own box for a 10" sub on the other side so I was only out the smaller load floor. It is pretty easy and costs less than $50 for all the material. It is a completely enclosed fiberglass enclosure. Very tight bass - sounds great. Took a better part of the day to make the first one. A friend is coming over tomorrow and we are going to make one for each side in his truck. I could take pictures as we go and email the process to you if you want. Here is one picture and their are more in my reader's rigs gallery.
