I have a 98 QC SB that I want to put aluminum wheels on. Is it possible to get wider wheels and still keep them tucked under like the stockers? I learned the hardway that the '01 and up do not fit. Got a real nice set of '01 OE wheels for sale!

I have 255/85's on the stock wheels now, but I like the Alcoa's on the Southwest Wheel website I saw last week. Can I get wheels that 285/75 fit on nicely and not have them hang out? I have seen these tire on stock 6. 5" wheel and they just don't look good. What backspace will work?

Thanks for the info in advance!

These are 16 x 8, 4 9/16" Backspace & 0 offset Mickey Thompson/Alcoa wheels. They are even with the flare. The flare is about 1. 5" off the fender.

Do you have weird gravitational forces in Enfield or did it just work out that the tire in the pic just happened to be rolling by as you clicked the shutter? (it's sitting there at an odd angle... ) :D

Seriously,

Are there aftermarket (alum. ) rims that don't stick out at all?

Matt,

I guess the tire balanced itself like that. I rolled it out of the shed and left it there. I don't think there are any aftermarket aluminum wheels w/ 4 3/4"backspace and + 27mm offset in a 16 x 8. Even they would stick out a little due to the 1. 5" increased width.

Kevin,

I got the tires mounted on the new Challengers, but have not mounted them on the truck yet. I kinda like driving around on 30" tires as opposed to 36". The truck handles like a Sports Car.

I have the Warn Street Flares. I wish I never had put them on. I think they look crappy. Put them on about 4 years ago. If I took them off now, the paint will be scuffed where they rest on the body.

Looks like I'll be sticking with stock rims then..... I do NOT want them to stick out at all... . my paint is bad enough, no need to add insult to injury. ;)
