afc need help!!!!

OK i got a 1996 2500 all stock except for 19. 5 tires (3. 55 gears) trucks been low on power and you never feel the turbo kick in. It took 20 seconds to go from 70-75mph. Looking thru the threads i found alot talking abouth the afv (or maybe its afc) any way i pulled the wastegate hose off and put a boost gauge on truck is now driving like it used too 70-75 mph in 4 seconds and max's out at 30 psi bosst if i keep it floored to the redline but only goes to 20psi during hard acceleration anybody got any idea on what part is broke or how to figure out what to replace? I tried looking thru the threads but i got kinda confused... ... .

It is AFC ( air fuel control ) but the first thing I would check is full throttle with the accelerator. then you can check the afc with a air supply & a pressure gauge.

that was the first thing i checked. was only opening about 75-85% adjusted it properly but it made no difference. I'm thinking I got a leaky wastegate diagprham or line.

i think i stretched the throttle cable from having it constantly mashed to the floor... ...

it sounds like your wastegate is stuck open either replace it or eliminate it.

if the wastegate is leaking the afc never moves out of the way to allow more fuel

Ok ill be doing a leak test on the wastegate system. pretty much cant be anything else so i should e able to figure it out. thanks to all for your help
