It's Italian..... It's good stuff - I used it in my Ducati - but waaaayyy too expensive. I think it was like $14/quart! (from the Ducati dealer). The only more expensive oil I know of was from Ferrari - at $16/quart.

I'd stay with Rotella of Delo if you prefer... . you can get them at WalMart!..... and $14 will get you 2 gallons plus.

I used to have two Ferrari tractors, excellent rigs, believe it or not they are one of the largest farm equipment manufacturers in Europe. Right on the oil fill cap it said to only use Agip 15w-40, I only used Delo. How's that for following directions? Both tractors had over 10,000 hours when I sold them, no rebuild and are still going strong.

Like Scooby said,

"It's Italian".

We used to buy Agip gas & oil when I was stationed in Naples, Italy. Must be ok - the locals use it all the time and, for the most part, their cars and trucks are still running.

I used it in a 77 Foe-Ward (Texan accent) and it lasted 4 years there and was still running when I brought it back to the states.

I would go out of my way to buy oil made in Italy. If there is one thing they are known for its vehicle dependability :) But there could be a side benefit, maybe it won't smell like the Rotella after the oil change, maybe it will smell like a fine Italian wine :D

Does it meet the Cummins requirements? (Like Rotella and Delo say they do on the side of the bottle)

Herb, I still have two Italian Lambardini (not Lamborghini) tractors, they are painted red instead of blue and say Massey-Ferguson on the side. M-F has been an Italian company since the early '90s. Perkins diesels, excellent tractors but pricey. Heard that Lamborghini's are tough to get parts for. My Ferrari's had Lamberdini (not Lambardini) air cooled diesel engines. Confused yet?

illflem:

my 2650 JD is an English version of the 2755 sold in the US. All of those tractors were made in Mannheim. i've had it about 2 years. i learned a lot about tractors when i was searching for this one. i found the Lamborghini and several European brands at the time. bought mine from a dealer in AL who imports used JD tractors from Europe. it was cheaper than buying a comparable US tractor. no trouble getting parts.

agip oil guys, sorry i diverted this thread--i'm outahere. :D
