Powermax question

05 HPCR only makes 20 psi of boost, any idea why?

I just got around to uploading these pics. Thought you guys and gals would like to see.

The air filter has around 12000 miles on it and the fuel filter has 5000 miles on it.

And the new ones are sitting next to the old ones for contrast.

My first fuel filter looked just like that. The second change was not as dark. I am now coming up on my 3rd change of these filters at 45K I wonder how dark they will be?

I wash my Afe filter once a month. Cheep to do and the turbo like the fresh air. I also change the fuel filter with every oil change, Cheep insurance.

I've always been under the impression that a slightly dirty filter will actually filter better than a brand new filter. Hence, by overchanging filters you may actually let more crud into your engine vs. following normal maintenance schedules.

BTW, I don't think either of those filters are alarmingly dirty.

Visual inspection is not a reliable indicator of filter contamination. Not saying it means nothing either...

Only a gauge can really tell.
