Hello All.

Well here's a new one for you. I've had my truck in three times (different dealers) now for the air bag clock spring breaking. Turn the wheel and you hear a crack in the steering wheel and the air bag light comes on. Anyone have that problem? Just rolled 29k miles in 8 months and thats the only problem the truck has had. Just curious if I'm the only one.

Took mine in for the clock spring recall, it's the only thing she's ever needed by dealer. no problems with new one all is well... ... ... ... . Kevin:)

First one broke when truck only a week old less than 100 miles. Second one broke the same week I got the letter from DC recall for clock spring. I think it was like 15,000 miles maybe a little less. Don't want to go out and read my log book to tell you for sure. Anyway I have a decent 5 *, not great but better than most. Had the spring onhand and replaced in about an hour. Good luck.

My experience is the same as bob's. . i'm on my 3rd. However, I have a great 5* dealer and the tech told me the one he put in last time (the one I have know) was a new design. Hopefully it'll last longer than the truck :)

I see you're new - WELCOME!

Many of us have experienced this, self included.

I'm really surprised that even going to different dealers, you didn't get fixed up right. There is an official NHTSA Safety Recall on this issue; so if any of your repairs were done after June, 2001, the dealers should have known all about it and fixed you up right. Go to http://dodgeram.org/tech/tsb/recalls/982.htm for the details; print that page, take it with you to the dealer. It should be your last trip. Also, it looks like you're still under warranty, but if you were charged for any of those repairs, you can get your money back from Dodge. Good Luck!
