Air Bag Hose Location

Ok, perhaps a trivial question, but for folks who have installed air bags - where did you mount the hoses?

I will have a slide in camper so the back bumper/license plates don't seem to be a good location. I thought about the on board compressors and the way cool setup - but seems like overkill. Any suggestions?

I know that I have a 2nd gen, but I ahve the auto level valves on mine. I think they are great. What ever weight I put in the truck the ride height stays the same.

Air Bag Valves

I had them drill and mount them on the rear quarter panel on the bottom, behind the wheel. I have mud flaps, so they stay clean. No problem getting to them even when the camper is on the truck.

Have you thought about a compressor? That way you won't have to worry about where to put them... simple pump up the bags from inside the cab I still need to get myself a compressor

I have air bags on my truck. I placed the manual fill valves under the fenders ahead of the tires and dually fenders. I installed the valves there because of the long overhang of the camper would make the valves inaccessible from the rear of the truck. I had the valves mounted in the same place on my previous 2nd gen truck too.



I also have the on-board compressor and in cab controls, but should the compressor ever fail, I can still air up the bags manually.

I would think inside the fuel filler cavity. Hardly ever anything gets in there to hurt it. That's where I install a lot of them. But then I also use the auto leveler . Tank and pump included.

I replaced the forward of the 3 inner fenter bolts with the air valve. Gets a bit dirty, but that's what valve caps are for. No problems after 8 years.
