Got my baby out of storage yesterday, after sitting since December. Took it for a ride, and about 45 minutes into the trip, the air-bag light came on along with a chime. It went off after a few minutes, but then after a couple seconds it chimed, and came back on. Did this persistantly for about 20 minutes until my exit. I shut the truck down, and it cleared when I re-started. However, another 5 minutes down the road it did it again. The truck sat at my destination for a few hours, and did not come back on when I drove it home last night.

Any ideas of what I should check? It's probably not a fuse, etc. because it didn't come on again last night (and it did clear when shutting down the truck). Could there be a sensor, or connector going bad after sitting for 3 months. Since it didn't return, could the problem be self-cured (maybe some corrosion got rubbed away?)?

Can the dealer do a diagnostic check after the light has gone off?

There are a couple of new recalls out for your truck. One of them has to do with possible corrosion on one of the ECM connectors.

Maybe that is your problem.

To find out about the recalls, go to www.dodge.com and check out the owner's zone. There is a place where you can check on recalls for your particular vehicle. You'll need the last 8 digits of your VIN.

Update.....

Finally took it into the dealer last week (early in the morning). Was unable to see anything with his scanner. Said he needed to be connected while the light was on (naturally, it didn't do it while I was there). He did do the flash for the "check-gauges" light, hoping it may cure the air-bag light as well.

As I was almost home (dealer is 1-1/4 hours away) it came back-on (late morning). Didn't have time to bring it back. It did it for the rest of the afternoon, but then stopped. Didn't do it again until yesterday afternoon.

I'm starting to think it's temperature related. It was warm last week, cold over the weekend, and a little warmer yesterday. Seems to happen when my overhead is reading 48*F or higher (only, and without exception).

Does this prompt anyone on something else to check for. Again has anyone seen this before?

Help..... :{

My friend has an 03 that has had the light on pretty much continuously for a couple of weeks and we haven't found any solutions yet. Sorry

Oh great

my light is on too.

Although it happened after I changed the fuse box under the hood, so my damn trailer signal lights would work.

Good grief.
