Air Bag Light on Dash????

My son's 03 Dodge Ram 1500 has a light on for the air bag... . Owners manual is no help. I called the local parts store and they have no way of scanning for codes on the air bag system. The parts guy said they didn't get into the air bag system due to safety considerations.

Is there any way to troubleshoot this system at home? I consider myself a pretty good wrench with good electrical skills, I just really don't want to take this to the stealership for repairs.

Any help would be greatly apperciated!!!

You will need a scanner to start and a FSM to guide you.

Problem solved... . Made mention that we might sell the truck and low and behold the next day a friend called, came and looked at it, and drove it home... . What light??!!
