air bag light won't shut off

I just had my factory radio replaced with an after market one, and ever since then, my ''Air Bag'' light wont shut off. I plugged in my smarty to see if there were any codes and no such luck. Any ideas?

I doubt the Smarty has access to the abm module... ... ... .

I hate to say it but you might probably be best off taking it in..... From previous experience i have learned that the Airbag system is pretty complex. Once i tripped the light reinstalling the front bumper (on an 01 accord)(would have tripped the bags had the ignition been on, luckily just tripped the sensor so the system detected a fault). another time the light would go on and off intermittently so i took it in and was informed that the seats had vacuum sensors in them and if you were not sitting properly(or had something on the seat) in the seat it would trip a fault and disable the system so that the person sitting in that seat wouldn't get hurt more (airbag not making contact at the right point of the body). I don't know if the system on your truck is that complex or more complex, but there are a lot of places to start. It might just need to be rest. A good mechanic probably wont charge much to reset it if anything at all.

The air bag light only stays on while a fault exist,fault is repaired light goes out.

Do all your other steering wheel functions work? If not your clock spring could be broken in the steering column. This causes the air bag fault lite to activate.

Just noticed your issue appeared after some one else worked on it. I always go back and recheck their work in cases like that. They may have created your issue

I think your right bob. I called the guy at the store and he is going to be closed for the rest of the week for christmas, but he said to come see him first thing monday morning and he will do what ever it takes to fix it. I just noticed that my seatbelt light wont go off now even though i'm wearing my seatbelt. my dash is lit up like a christmas tree. its always something
