Air Bag recall 2008

Will I am finally biting the bullet and getting my air bag recall done, both driver side and passenger side. I called an scheduled the appointment, the service writer who I scheduled with said I also need J35 recall done on my truck. I respond no I am not doing that one, I do not need it.

I purchased the Geno's Garage locking OBDII port cover and that is on my OBDII port now so, I hope that works. Don't want to mess up my Smarty settings on the truck. This truck can't be driven on the factory settings since it would throw every code in the book looking for deleted equipment.

Wish me luck; I will post after everything is completed.

You should be ok, the worst that might happen is an air bag code might get set during the change.

Mike; again thanks for the PM the service writer said he know nothing about that. The recall for the driver side and passenger was completed this AM. The service writer at the dealer ship was not to happy with the OBDII lock from Geno's Garage that was on the OBDII port. I did remove the lock for the service writer to download what every information is stored on the EMC from truck. Not much since I used my scanner before I drove the truck today. No codes showing. After he was done the lock was reinstalled and I left with the key.
