Air Bag switch on quad-cab

Tried to search on this and couldn't find anything. On my '98 quad-cab you could turn off the passenger air bag. On the '01 the switch has a bar in it preventing the key from going in. This is mentioned in the owner's manual. Question is, why, and can you remove the block so the switch is operable?

On my 2001, the key doesn't go in as far as in my 1999. Just put it in as far as it will go (about 3/8") then turn it. If this doesn't work... ... ... ... ... ... . ????

Welcome to TDR. I have a '01. Place key in the (the key will only go in an . 125% of an inch) and turn.

Your info was right on. Don't know why they put the block in if it still works anyway.

Still say the best addition to my truck was TDR.
