Doing research on air bags for the new truck that's to be here today. So far Firestone is getting "rave" reviews from those that have owned them. This is a first for me so any help input would be appreciated.

I've done a search and that's what I've got so far.

Thus far it looks like I have to do some drilling with FS bags.

Where to get good prices etc? How about Pac brake bags> etc.

Thanks. Ed

I am using Air-Lift bags on my 08 with the Automatic Leveling on board compressor. This seems to work will and once you set the desired air pressure the system will maintain that pressure until you reset the air bag pressure again.

I also installed the Painless weatherproof 3 circuits fuse block at the same time needed power to run the air bag compressor and this seem to be the safest way to do this. Geno's Garage sells this along with a 7-circuit fuse block.

I was under the impression the 2013 frame was unchanged on the 2500, so you shouldn't have to drill.

I have used Firestone on multiple rigs, mine and dads, for 15 years without a single issue. We still own and use all the kits.

First I am a big fan of air bags, they just make the truck so much better when towing heavy, I have installed both Pac Brake bags in my 05, and I installed Firestone's in my 2012. In my opinion they are about the same, and they both do the job. I might suggest if your installing them yourself, get the Pac Brake bags, there much easier to install, they are also a little better built, but if you can get a real good deal on Firestone, then make the call. As for drilling, I don't remember drilling any holes , as far as the air fills, I ran the two lines out the rear, one in each hole below the hitch receiver lower support bracket, easy to get to, you will have to use washers to get the holes to the correct size

I run my PacBrake bags at 5psi unloaded and it rides the same as when it had no bags. When towing I run about 25psi and it just evens out the ride they are not for raising the ride on my rig. I did not need bags with 4,500# pin weight the truck sat level.

I have the in cab controls for the air bags and also air horns and a air chuck under the hood, all PacBrake products also a 2. 5 gallon air tank and compressor.

PacBrake is top quality!

My ride got a bit stiffer. I keep 10lbs in them as the directions says. . Firestones. 25 lbs and the truck never squatted at all with the 5th hitched.

Have you checked out the Torklift Stable Loads? Once added to my 06' I use less air in my Pacbrake airbags. Before the Stableloads I ran 80 psi. Now 45psi.

10psi will make for a stiffer ride, 5 psi is the minimum per the directions.

When empty I run all the air out, I know it says 5 LBS but it rides so much better, I have over 100000 miles driving this way, never an issue
