You're right. The bags are installed in a new hitch that replaces the OEM tow hitch. The shackles from the rear springs are mounted onto the Kelderman unit. The hanger unit that comes from the factory , the ones riveted to the frame, are removed. The axle springs are mounted to the air ride unit which puts all the weight of the truck on the air bags and it will ride like any truck with the same. From all I can find out , the price is well below what I thought it would cost. If you fill it can be done at home , you can get out for less than $800. For my money that is the only way to go.
I'm not looking to get help from the stock springs as far as the load level is concerned. I want a smoother ride with the capacity of my truck as it now stands. Air bags in conjunction with the stock shackle system will not get that. I do not feel.
