The air bag light comes on when i start the truck but it never goes off. It will go off when i turn the passenger side airbag off. does anyone have a clue as to what can be wrong with it????? I am still waiting for my factory manual to come in. and the haynes manual ssays nothing about it.

Most likely, it is picking up a problem in the circuit leading to or inside the passenger side bag. When the light stays on, the system is not operational and neither bag should fire.

I would turn off the passenger bag and drive with the light off, so that your bag is still working until you get it fixed.

that is what i am doing right now but i was just wondering if anybody knew what the problem could be and maybe how to troubleshoot it.

Without the trouble code, it's just a guessing game.

mine did the same thing and it turned out to be the clockspring in the steering column there was a recall on this may want to check it out

really i bought this truck used about 6 months ago and i don't know if the recall was done or not. would the clockspring affect the passenger side airbag because when i turn it off the airbag warning light goes off, and everything seems fine.
