Dan.... Excellent write up and blow by blow pics.
It also serves ALL of us very well as for a reminder, things unseen or out right obvious sometimes get overlooked. Case in point, prior to my retirement one of the "kids" I worked with came to work smiling after he had just spent north of 60K of a Toyota that the dealer made attractive by bolting everything including the kitchen sink to. After the ribbing he took about, "Geesh, you could have bought a real truck, ie., a Cummins TD or PSD etc, he was beemimg at his off road rig that he parked in front of his house, in the rural area we lived in.
Six month's later he came to work fit to be tied. Apparently, he went to start it that morning and he hit the jackpot. Every alarm and warning light it had came on, some he didn't know he had, the truck didn't even crank.
After the dealer "hooked it and took it", the dealer called a week later after finding the trouble. A family of rodents had made a home out of insulation, wiring, couplings, etc of the main wiring harness and various parts of the sounding proofing, cab insulation and anything else they could get.
Ten thousand dollars and 6 weeks later he got it back.
So paying attention to the unseen and little things can make a BIG difference.
Thanks Dan for reminding us!
