I have only used my air conditioning for one summer. Should It be time to have it recharged already? I would'nt think so. Has anbody had problems with there a/c. My other vehicles have lasted years without needing service. I've used it a couple times but only getting norm air, truck only has 24,000 and the a/c was barely used last summer, I have not heard it cycling on and off at all. Any suggestions would be great, getting in the 100's around here would be nice to stay cool again. Thanks to all:mad:... ... ... ... .

Oh and one more has anyone had a problem with there warranty with this? I would like to stay away from the dealer but if I need to and its covered I have no choice. Thanks again... ... ... .

You're probably just low on refrigerant. Both my '95s needed a charge the first summer but have been fine since. DC probably short fills them to save a dime and to get you into the dealer for repair work. Doubt if low freon is covered by warranty.

My 01 with approx. 34000 miles just had A/C problems!!

The line that mounts to the back of the compressor split at the schrader valve. , approx 6 inches from the compressor. My truck has lived on gravel roads for a big portion of its life, and I suspect that the vibrations got to it!

They appear to have upgraded the hose as there is now a hard plastic support surrounding the valve and approx 2 inches of aluminum hose on each side of it, instead of the soft rubber of the old part.

Had to have my 2001. 5 recharged as well. Local Dealer could not find any leaks. So far it is staying cool after the recharge. Was covered under warranty.

Air Cond

It could be a leak in the condensor - my Toyota PU (prior to this Dodge ) a/c wouldn't work - it had 42,000 miles (out of warranty) but the Dealer replaced the condensor (totally free- good customer service), that cured the problem - have them check the condensor for leaks - it should be covered under warranty. may also just need recharging.

:)

thanks

Taking it to a dealer monday, they told me on the phone that it is covered under warranty wether it just needs recharged or there is a leak they will take care of it. Oh well I guess I'll see how it go's... ... :--) let you know later... ... . getting hot out here... ...
