air conditioner drain

One the new truck, the AC evaporator drain only has a short stub pipe sticking out of the firewall. Is there supposed to be a hose attached to it going down to the frame somewhere?

Mine is the same way, I was thinking of adding a hose so the water would go directly on the ground.

AC drain hose

NAPA part number 9812 (hose). 'bout 3 ft long with molded elbow. Slip on, (use soap bubbles), no clamp, and run it down the firewall to the frame and ty-rap it in a convenient location. Courtesy Vaughn MacKenzie. Costs $13-16 depending where you are located. Ron

I called the local NAPA store and they did not have the 9812 in stock. On a hunch, I took the number over to an Advance Auto Parts and they crossed it to a Drive-Rite 80405 and only wanted $8. 50!

Use Radiator Hose

Use about 2' of 5/8" radiator hose. Cheap and works. Got it on my 03 and my 02.



I'm also going to extend the oil breather hose further back on my 03.

Resurrecting this one.....


Can anyone provide a pic of this drain tube? I can't seem to find it along the firewall. Made a roadtrip this weekend, and seems like there was a gallon of water that dripped on the passenger floor mat. (Thankfully, rubber floor mats hold a lot of water)

Or you could go crazy and collect the condensate and spray it in front of the condenser/intercooler/radiator for more performance!! lol

yeah, I noticed the same thing, the passenger side suspension parts are always coated in water.



However, in the winter time could this cause a problem? tho, I never notice much water in the winter time but the A/C is used for defrosting...



I was also planning on extending the fuel filter canister drain tube as well.

I stopped at Advance Auto last night and picked up the part #80405 hose. $11. 48 here at our store. It's perfect, nice molded elbow, ready to go.
