When I take the first corner after starting the truck, I hear water sloshing from below the passenger side dash. I suspect a plugged drain from the evaporator section. So far none is getting onto the mat but I'm afraid this may be next. Anyone know where to look or how to unclog this drain without taking the qwhole dash apart? I do get the normal quantity of condensate dripping on the ground when parked but the source of the normal drips is hidden.

Fill out your signature profile so that we know what year truck you have.

Anyways, on a second gen it exits from the passenger firewall. I have added a long tube to route the stright forward facing drain outlet nipple towards the ground (have it tie wrapped to the frame near the right front brake line). Do a search and some one has found a formed 90 degree hose available from Napa that does the same thing.

You also might want to drop the blower fan housing and clear any leaf debris from the housing.

If you have a second gen, you have a clogged drain tube. Just went through that and yes it did get water on the floorboard. The hole is on the passenger firewall, if you get under the truck behind the right front wheel and look up you will see a small tube sticking out of the firewall. Take something straight and thin, I used a long zip tie, and stick it in the hole and move it around. Be careful, I ended up getting a face full of black crud and about a gallon of dirty water.

I have the same symptoms as BobS and followed your advice to him. Found the drain tube, rodded it out with a 12" zip tie and got nada. No debris, no water. I do get condensate on the ground when parking after running A/C. This just started happening immediately after I took it to the dealer with weak cooling performance and they recharged the freon. Any chance they only partially recharged and I'm hearing freon sloshing in the evaporator because the lines are not filled with liquid in the right places? If I were paranoid I'd say this is a good way to get me back there sooner for an evaporator replacement, which they reported as having a leak of unknown size in that area. "But just because I'm not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me".

If you could hear freon sloshing, you'd have a lot more problems than you do. Liquid freon is bad. Gaseous freon is good.

I don't know what sort of coincidence would be involved with sloshing starting just after a dealer visit, but there must be one.

edit: how about this: your AC is cooling better after your visit, generating more condensate, and your zip tie wasn't doing the job. I used a coat hanger, IIRC. I need to do it again, don't really want an armpit full of cold water. Mine does drain, and it drains a lot, but from the slosh and the wet floor mat, it obviously doesn't drain enough.

Good luck!
