So I had my truck at a dedicated A/C shop today to have them give it a once over since I had the warmer temp on the passenger side issue. They did a check on it and said that the A/C was working fine and that the fan clutch wasn't working and it wouldn't pull enough air through the condensor and it was running up the head pressure too high. The tech said that the checked it and it ran the pressure up over 300psi pretty quickly. He said the system was a little bit low on refrigerant so I am assuming that he filled it up.
Anyone ever hear of this? When I got home I let it run w/the air on and the fan clutch sounded like it was working to me. I heard the fan roar and quiet down a few times. I don't know if he checked it before or after he charged it. If it was before then maybe the fan clutch won't engage off of the A/C if it is low on refrigerant?
When I was driving it this evening I had a buddy in the passenger seat and he said that the temp was fluctuating.
Any ideas?
Jeff
