I'm considering changing the stock air dam with an after market unit that will house round fog lights. Later, I'll replace the stock fog lights with driving lights.

I've only found three so far and thought some of you might know of some others. The three that I'm aware of are: 1)Air Darn - TDR Bonsur 2)AeroDam and 3) Truck Master Design.

Air Dam

Rattlin:

I have considered installing one on mb truck. However, doesn't an air dam restrict the flow of air under the truck? I have a Gear Venders like you, and wonder about the airflow, also to the rear axle? What are your thoughts on this?

I make an air dam that is called Dam Air,I have done some inprovments so now its called Dam Air '2' It come with 4in. driving lites It also has an opening in the front that air goes through into an air box and then up a 4in. flex hose to the air box were it attaches to the stock air box with an adapter that comes with the dam. I,m not sure how to post a photo or I would if some one would like to see a photo and could walk me throuh it I would be glad to post a few.

Doug- you need to do more advertising!!! I bought one of these from Keith at DD last month and REALLY like it! Thanks Keith. Glasmith- air under the truck is called drag. Ever look at a Nascar underside? Can't get much worse in the wear&tear department yet these puppies are pretty well fared in. Get one, you'll like it!

George,

With a 4X I don't think the air dam restricts the air the same way it would on an auto that is low to the ground creating that creates a ground effect. Without side fairings to maintain any kind of ground effect, I expect there is more than enough air disturbance under the truck to keep things cool.

Primary reason to change is to get the fog lights lower and still have a nice looking front end. In the case of fog lights, lower is better.
