I am thinking of buying a wind delfector for the top of my rig when I tow my travel trailer. Does anyone have any recommendations for one that you have had a good result with? Are they worth the money? What did you pay and was it hard to install. Any help advice is much appreciated. Thanks, Sarge

I had a wing on the fiberglass portion of the 78 Ford Bronco. I had it back as far as possible. I towed a 20' Aristocrat. Towing down I5 from Sac to LA, the difference was 1. 5 mpg better. If you had a camper shell & trailer, then as far back as possible would be similar. My wing was about 18" tall.

A tall 5th wheel would need a big wing. I used the wing from the Bronco on a 72 Ford 3/4 ton long bed & a tall 5th wheel. It kept the bugs off about 1/2 of the front of the 5th wheel, so I'd guess a taller one was needed. Also, boy is there a ton of suction caused by that wing. You get going over 60 & the Beer cans get sucked right out of the back. #ad

Thanks Forrest, I'll take that as a positive vote! Sarge

that's not fair <G> - My PC is Ram impaired tonignt and crashed while I was trying to respond with that web site <G> http://www.turbowing.com/ FWIW - that is the wing that I was talking about earlier - I still think they are sharp looking - I haven't priced them recently but can note that campers world has carried them for awhile and that most recent Summit catalog's I've seen have also included these wings. <FONT SIZE="4">KES</FONT>

Sarge, I have use the air foil both with a TT and FF. It help some with the TT but see no difference with the FF. I have towed about 30k miles.
1)The air foil screws out the exisiting air foil on the FF. On the TT the foil starts lifting the air over the TT which helps.
2)Creates noise and vibration and must be taken off when not towing, or turned down flat.
3)The reason it works for big rigs is that the air foil cover most of the trailer front.
4)I have taken mine off and it is down in the shed and anyone can have if you come get it.
