Hi guys, I have been following the thread on the air dog and am in a quandary as I have the ad 100 30psi system sitting on the bench (along with studs, springs and r700 twins:-laf) and have contemplated installing a racor seperator prior to the a/d unit. Has anyone done any research as far as flow rates, micron rating , and efficiency on these? I run Racors on many of the trucks in my fleet but have never really done much with them except replace the elements. They are made by Parker and are a good unit. They can be outfitted with a heater (electric 200watt or coolant heated,) will take a wif sensor and also a provision for a restriction/vacuum gauge. Most of the smaller units will flow 15-90 gph depending upon the model. They are availible in 2,10,or 30 micron rating. If anyone has any info or is using one please chime in.

Mike

I think you will find most will suggest NOT placing any filter on the suction side of an aftermarket pump such as an AD or FASS. They do not like restrictions and will cavitate.

If you would like to run that filter, I would run it between the AD and the CP3... this would ensure the filter is within its flow requirements and would provide extra assurance the fuel to the CP3 is well filtered.
