Not to inflame another air filter debate, but AMSOIL has introduced a new air filter line called EaA. The name is based on the test used to determine the efficiency of filters. AMSOIL claims it is the best thing yet  . Better than their oiled foam, K&N or other oiled gauze filter. I run many K&N in other vehicles and have a double foam AMSOIL in my Cummins right now. An EaA is on order. They are not very expensive, especially if you are a preferred customer or dealer.

My experience with the oiled double foam is that they trap a lot of stuff, but are nasty to clean. The filter minder also never indicates it is full  . The EaA is cleaned with a vacuum or shop air. No oil or cleaning kit to buy. Check it out here:

The real name to test air filters to an industry standard is the ISO 5011

Most paper and glorified paper like this one you described will out perform the other filters. Here is the real testing procedure ask Amsoil why they didn't use the real standard.

Read the ad in the amsoil cat. they did use part of the ISO test for marketing. Cough up the whole enchilada.

Do you know if Cummins has tested this filter and if they approve it to be used on our engines?

Griz: I don't know if Cummins has approved the new AmsOil filter. I would assume they want you to use their Fleetguard and would not approve any aftermarket filter. My filter is on backorder. This would presume there are others like me who are willing to give it a try. I'll post back when I receive it.

I think the filter is made by Donaldson, look at the Donaldson link on the same page. It looks like the Donaldson Endurance AF. what is a P/N for a BHAF?

If you give me a size I might be able to find you one in the industrial catalog. Give me a filter diameter and filter outlet size and I'll see if I can drum up a P/N.

amsoil filter

I installed mine yesterday, no noticable improvement in performance. I'm surprised that other than color, the thing look exactly like the "Wix built" Car Quest filter I took out. No kidding, right down to the paper imprinting. Of course the paper technology can't be seen by looking so I hope I've made the right decision for filter effecency AND flow improvement. Being that I spend alot of summer 2 tracking, I'll probably replace every 2 years at most with more than recommended cleaning. Sure hope this is the real deal on filtering.
