I have narrowed it down to these 3 filters on which i will get. How are you guys that are running any of these filters liking it. By all means feel free to recommend one of these. Thanks
if i was ready to drop over $500 dollars on just an air filter i would but i don't have have that much money to spend right now on an air filter alone. But thanks
I just installed the volant filter and intake in my 06 dodge 2500 auto turbo spools faster and the design is better than the others as it has a full box not just a heat shield the ovalized filter offers the same flow as the others took about 45 minutes to install. have put 2000 miles on with no dust in the intake am quite pleased Purchased from autoanything.com along with the Edge juice with attitude controller all for around 1000. 00 bucks they also have a 1 year price guarantee
Are you talking stock replacement or each manufactures full meal deal??? FYI I have an airaid stock replacement and there is no noticeable change in power, sound, or fuel economy.
I have the aem brute force and I think it is a bit restrictive. whenever I reset the factory guage and drive it a bit the next time I look its sucked down into the red. That tells me the motor wants more air.
the whale dog, have you noticed any power difference or gas mileage difference cause the only thing i have done to my truck so far is straight piped it.
lethal injection, did you notice any power difference or gas mileage difference or even the sound difference either.
I have it narrowed down to aem or volant for sure now.

I don't know where your putting that filter minder but it can't be in the factory location. That gauge is only calibrated to work on the factory box in the factory location.
AFE has options other than the Stage II system, and they can be had for a LOOOT less than $500. 00 too! You can get their Stage I at less than $300. 00 depending on where you shop, add a Torque Tube and you've got a STAGE 1 1/2 or so too! Plus the Stage I is comparable to the other manufacturers systems anyway, the Stage II is a step or two above etc.
Take a look here too, unbiased info that really shows the potential of the AFE:
I vote for AFE Stage 2, I just installed mine and I can really hear the turbo spool. I got mine for 378. 00 plus shippng. It was shipped with other stuff so I can not comment on what the total shipped price was.
my brother has the afe stage 2 and regrets getting it cause he hasn't noticed hardly at all a difference and with it being out in the open like it is it gets dirty real fast which has convinced me to do a complete cover like the volant is. I'm not saying afe sucks but my brother does not like it even after doing the banks kit to it he still regrets it. I know a lot of you have had good luck with it but i don't want to regret it either so volant will be my choice for now and i will post later and tell all how much i like it. Thanks for all the input guys.
The AFE Stage II will always get dirtier faster as it's flowing more air, more air brings with that air more dirt which the filter stops so it gets dirtier faster etc. An enclosed filter will flow less air as it is smaller in filter media size, plus it is limited to the inlet flow capability only.
Don't expect major HP changes form ANY intake system. Buy an intake system to reduce EGT's get a quicker spool up on the turbo and to increase MPG by increasing the BTU efficiency of the existing fuel injected with more air.
I've got the AEM Brute Force. There is quite a bit of turbo whistle with it, but I like it that way, maybe you won't.
Like Lethal Injection said, I noticed the factory airflow meter showing into the red also.
Matt S, the AEM intake tube has a hole specifically to pop the factory airflow meter into. But I guess that won't necessarily guarantee the accurancy though.
My recommendation would be for the Volant system. I had one my 02 and now on my 04. 5. Before I put it on my 04. 5 I tried the S+B because I had read it was similar to the Volant. In comparing the two I can honestly say the S+B is a horrible knock off. It was so poorly engineered I could not even get it to fit in the truck. The way it mounts up is bad to say the least. Spend the extra cash and get a Volant. The Volant is a nice fit and makes turbo have a very pronounced whistle. Do some searching around. I think I bought mine for around $270 from Ebay.
