Well i was a firm belever in K&N, BUT---

I had to remove the first intercooler connector to clean the oil off it (its near the filter, got some on it, then started backing off under boost), anyway, when I removed it, I noticed the inside had this black coating on it, well so much for K&N, I was going to pick up an Amsoil order for my wifes CRV anyway.

Beleave me it was sealed well around the sides.

Not looking to start a large discussion, just posting the facts I found from K&N in my truck.

That black coating of oil resiude may not be from your air filter, it could be your compressor side bearing seal leaking oil. And an Amsoil filter will also leave oil residue in the intake piping. If you dont want to deal with that anymore, your best bet is a paper filter.
