Hey everybody, just have a quick question. I have a replacement style K&N filter in my air box. At what point should I consider upgrading to a larger filter? I do plan to install some DD2's after the first of the year, but the truck is currently what it shows in the sig.

The stock filter is good for well above DD2's. You won't "need" any more filter flow until you have a LOT more power.
 
Well I think you might want to upgrade your air filter if after the injector install you start having problems with high EGT's, then again this could be an indication the turbo dept needs some attention. I'm not sure if the Boost pressures could be low due to air filter restriction? Or you are consistently sucking down the filter-minder.
 
NO, I haven't had any problems with the filter minder. I just installed the EZ last week. I currently have plans to do a DDT upgrade the first of the year. I am holding off on the injectors till then. I also have a full set of gauges on the way. (fuel, egt, and boost)
 
Have you done any transmission work yet? If not, from what I have read here, you are about to. With your mods you are exceeding the limit of a stock trans.



You probably already know this, but all that extra go will do you no good if ya can't get it to the ground. Good Luck.



I am in the save some cash mode for a clutch and then a box and injectors.
 
Yeah, actually I do have transmission upgrade in the near future, that is the DDT I mentioned above. That will be before the DD2's
