I'm installing an Edge EZ on my truck, how much air flow will I need? I currently have a K&N in the stock air box, will this do, or should I look at another setup?
You should be fine with the EZ. Not wanting to start a big fight here, but I would ditch the K&N as they let dirt get through and move to a BHAF filter.
I run the BHAF with my EZ and it works out great. Honestly I haven't seen any difference in MPG between my stock truck computer/air setup then with my EZ/BHAF setup.
I use a K&N drop in filter and it made for a slightly noisier intake, but was bearable. I tried a BHAF and found the noise to be too much! Too each his own, but the person in the passenger seat may not like the whining of the turbo...
Pull the fender to airbox snorkle and drill four 1"- 2" holes in the bottom of the air box. Flow is much better and only a moderate increase in turbo music.
I've run both K&N and AFE filters in Baja with zero problems. Key is correct oiling imo. Once a month pull the filter and do the white glove test if you're worried
