I used to work for the company that built most of the electronics put in A. F. 1.
E-Systems.
They're Texas based (big suprise there, eh?), thus the perculiar shape.

I quit and went to work for another company and it turned out some of their products wound up on the same plane!

It was a fun job, but I'm making almost double the $$$ where I am now. #ad

My one and only time in an E Systems facility: They had a Cessna 152 that had been used as a drone. I was in the A/C biz and they wanted to sell the little plane as their testing was done. I gave them a bid and it was accepted. A friend of mine flew me out to the base to pick up the plane. We were led through a maze of hangars and finally got to the little Cessna. It was sitting surrounded by some pretty strange flying machines. I inquired as to what these things were. Our escort asked, "what things?". Dummy me said, those things as I pointed. Our escort agained asked, "what things"? I shut up, got my little Cessna and got out of there. You do not have to hit this Cajun with a mop three times... ... ... ... .....

Barry, we had some neat toys where I was, but for the most part it was electronics. (lazers, computer aided logistics, target aquisition, pulse power,communications gear, etc) Building I was in was responsible for 80% of the Govt. patents the previous year!
Woulda been nice to work with flying toys. #ad
