I need some help. I have hadley air horns on my truck. The compressor stopped working,so I upgraded to a viair 400C compressor. That's where I'm having a problem. The hadley compressor didn't have a relay, the viair does. The hadley pressure switch is hooked up differently then the viairs. Has anyone ever made this switch? If so how did you do it. Thank you. #@$%!

The C series compressors don't come with a pressure-switch but you need to use one if you are using a tank, as opposed to just using the hose to fill tires.

I have the 450C and am using the Viair pressure switch/relay combo but you can use a seperate pressure switch and relay.

The pressure switch, usually attached to read tank pressure, tells the compressor when to start and stop at the preset limits designed into the switch. These should match the limits of the system, such as tanks, compressor, etc. The relay is just a heavy-duty switch that is activated by the contacts on the pressure-switch and the heavy contacts of the relay control the power to the compressor.

Here is the Viair schematic for your unit, the site has lots of good info for the safe design of an air system.

Allnew 2 Me thanks for the reply. I have the wiring digram for the viair compressor. My hadley uses a pressure switch also. But I don't know how it's wired. I called hadley, they called me back but I wasn't home. It's probably simple, but I can't figure it out.
