Recently ordered a set air horns. One 25" and one 30" that flare out to 7". I was thinking about mounting them under the bed on the passenger side in front of the rear tire. I have a regular cab long bed truck. Any thoughts or ideas or pictures of other install would be greatly appreciated. I know this does'nt make my truck go faster, but it might get some pedal bikers out of my way or at the very least, they'll think there getting run over by a big rig!!!

I have 2 hadley bully horns mounted behind the custom bumper. I welded a plate on that each support arm, they are protected between the front bumper and the plastic wheel liner. I pointing them down to prevent water, snow & ice build up, which happened - froze shut when roof mounted on my old truck. Get the horns in hand and roll around on a creeper to see were they fit the best. I also mounted the 1 gal & 2 gal tank & compressor on a plate. Then mounted the plate inside the drivers side frame across from the transmission. unpluged 1 electric horn and used the wire to feed the soleniod, which is mounted between both horns behind the front bumper. They work with the factory steering wheel horn pad. I also put a Ispro air gauge inside the cab.

I installed a pair of Train horns under the bed on the Drivers side. This location was chosen because in my bed box on the left side is my air system. It was a straight shot down to the horns. The horns are operated at the same time as the electric horn (wired parallel)The next set we want to install will be under the right side of the bed, possibly a 3 chime set (a 2 chime set are currently on the truck). There will need to be some additional plumbing involved, she wants a throttling valve in the cab. And another air tank. I will attempt to post some pictures when I can.

I recently installed a 4 chime set of train horns plus air compressor. After months of trying to figure out just where they could go, I found the air horns went under the truck, about under the drivers feet, nice space there. I mounted the air compressor under the front driver side of the bed, nice space there for it. I put a push button switch down on the left bottom side of the dash, easy to push. I used an air compressor that has pressure switch on it, it only runs when ign switch is on, also blows the air bags thru a regulator. Set it and forget it.

Friend of mine had a QC SB, he had a 10 gal tank and 2 really big horns located inboard on the right frame rail. Those suckers would wake the dead! ! !

Thanks for the info guys. Keep it coming. I ordered my kit from Jason at Air Horns of Texas. Very friendly and knowledgable. His website is great. Hopefully i'll have them fired up this weekend. (SSolderitch), you said you unplugged one of the factory electric horns and used one wire to power your solenoid. What about the other horn/wire??? I've heard the train horns of a few trucks and they sound awsome, but i'm going for the old school Peterbilt sound which requires longer horns than the train horns. If anyone has some more install pictures, i'd love to see them. Thanks.

Forgot to ask all you guys if you ran the compressor power through a relay so if there was an air leak, the compressor would'nt turn on without ignition power and if so, where is a good source to tap into the ignition??? I was planning on running power from the passenger side battery.

how are the horns for getting water in them?? we get tons of wet driving all winter and there kinda a toy... . will they freeze/get stuck ??

wondering about how much water they will get pounded with under the truck bothers me.

Really hard to get meaningful photos unless the truck is on a hoist, but here are my installations, has worked out very well for me.

I haven't finished my installation yet, but I had to make a plate and mounting bracket for the tank/compressor and have bolted it underneath the bed on the passenger side. I haven't put the horns on yet, but will be putting them on the roof over the driver's side.
