I have read about all the mounting options on here for the air horns and decided to go under the front bumper... . my only question is do i leave the bells showing under the bumper or do i hide the bells behind the bumper? if i hide them behind the bumper will i still get enough sound with them?

i have the hadley set up and would appreciate any info
thanks guys

I mounted mine directly below the steering box behind the front frame rail. I want to mount it behind the front bumper, but I think I'll have to take the bumper off to get it in there, the bell is way too big to fit at the bottom. It looks like it will fit well once it's in there, the problem seems to be getting it in... .

I think these things make so much gawd-awful noise that you could mount it under the bed and have the same effect, so I'd start out whereever it fits the easiest and move it later if you need to.

I personally prefer stealth, so I will be keeping mine hidden from view.

Mounted my bulleys last week. They fit just fine behind the bumper. Mount them as high as you can, this will protect the from the elements. You will have no loss in performance whatsoever.

For you guys running the Hadley Bullies, I noticed in the JC Whitney catalog, they sell some kind of snap-on protector kit for $20. Does anybody have one, or know exactly what it is? Does it slip over the entire trumpet or just the openings? Is it needed for a behind-the-bumper installtion? The ad claims "it keeps the elements out. "

I have Hadley horns on mine. I mounted them horizontal behind the bumper from a bracket on the right side of the frame. I also have a 4 gallon air tank mounted ahead of the right rear wheel well. Currently I have a small Grove compressor, but I am looking for a bigger unit. Eventually I will put an air brake compressor mounted to the engine.

24" Grover behind the front bumper up high and hidden from view. 5gal. tank right side ahead of wheel well. Like Mike says these things are loud where ever you mount it.
