i have had local shop put a new injectore pump and a new lift pump and new injectors on my 92 4x4. now after truck sits about 8 hours i get a hard start issue. some times i crank over about 5 times and idles rough for about 15 seconds and smoothes out. next time it rolls over and dies then i crank again and runs rough for about 15 seconds and smoothes out. lots of white smoke. i took it back 4 times they say its bleeding back and they can not fix it, because can not locate air leak. i asked if maybe check valve in injectore pump could be bad. they say no way its new. i then ask could lift pump be bad. they say no its new. i at that time went back and removed the out side line to lift pump. tried 2 pounds of air in line to injectore pump side, cant find leak. i then checked all fuel lines all the way from top of fuel tank to lift pump. i even rubbed hard grease on lines and left it over night. cant find leak. i replaced new lift pump with electrical fuel pump and put a check valve in line before fuel filter. still air in lines. please help . im at my ends

Just a thought , But there is a compression coupler in the middle of the line between your fuel filter outlet and the injection pump inlet that might be leaking air into the system after shutdown (cooldown)It could have been disturbed during the IP Removal/replacement process... ... . Try tightening it

also,

check your crankcase oil level to make sure diesel is not leaking into your front gear case through the IPs input shaft seal. air could also creep back in there
