I installed a Westach fuel pressure guage today on my 2001 RAM. I placed the sender on the discharge side of the fuel filter. When I went to start the engine I noticed the lift pump ran for 20-30 seconds (I expected this). Once it stopped I tried to start the engine. It kicked over & then nothing. Now, everytime I try to start the engine, the lift pump runs for 20 seconds & pressure builds to 16 pounds. But the engine won't fire. I'm sure I have air in the fuel system but I do not know how to blead this pump (VP 44). Any recommendations (yes, I have the manual on order but it has not arrived yet).

have someone bump the starter for you,so the lift pump runs for 2-30 seconds, while its running, push the valve core of the schrader valve in(the one on the VP44 fuel inlet),and let out all the air,it should fire within 10 seconds of cranking after that, repeat once if necessary.
