I just finished cleaning the pressure valve screen in PS pump line. Used my small Mighty Vac to evacuate the pump, put everything back together and refilled pump.

So far it's been about 150 turns on the wheel lock to lock, and I still cannot drive the truck.

Typical issue of weak/no brake pedal and an almost un-steerable beast.

Anybody got any tips or ideas of gettiing the air out?

I'll bet I lifted the truck 6 times today and still cannot drive it very easily.

Well I have just about run out of options. Still cannot steer the truck and have no brakes. I don't understand why I have no high pressure fluid coming from pump.

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

Here's where I'm at after 2 days. The pump was lock to lock at least 100 times, engine off. Pump kept filled the whole time.

Engine on, cracked return lines, no fluid coming out, even from the high pressure line.

I am at a loss. I have bled and vacuum pumped the entire system to be free of air, it's just that without any fluid coming from the pump to the hydroboost makes me think the pump just up and quit.

All I did was remove the valve, clean the screen, refill the system and haven't had brakes or steering since.

I don't know what to do to with this beast. I am thinking maybe my pump just gave up the ghost, I really don't know right now.

Tough to drive like it is.

See if you didn't get the pressure relief valve messed up when you cleaned the screen. Re-do what you did to get where you are. I don't have personal experiance with our ps pumps but I would look at pressure regulation in the pump. Good luck, Mike.

Thanks AKAMAC. I went through the steps at least 6 times. I even tried it without the pressure relief valve and still couldn't see any signs of pressure.

Today I decided to remove the entire pump assembly and take a better look. Not too big a deal to remove, about 35 minutes, but don't really see anyting that may not be OK. The biggest challenge looks like getting the cog off the end of the PS pump shaft.

I'll take to a friend in the morning and see if I can get it pulled.

UPDATE !

Installed new pump today, 10 mins bleeding air, power steering is perfect, brakes work better than new.

Thanks everyone for assistance.
