Someone, help me out!!

I have an 02 with HO and a 6 speed. I installed an Edge comp around march of 06. No problems. Added injectors (125hp) and bully dog fuel management kit. After this, I would have to be very careful about full power with the box on 5, or after lifting the throttle the engine would stumble and die. If I cracked number 3 and 4 injectors to bleed the system, it would start back up and run fine. Lately I figured my big holley pump and fuel line wouldn't do me any good if I was sucking through the factory straw in the tank. Therefore I ordered and installed the vulcan "draw straw" and the big line that goes from the filter to the pump. I felt like this helped until this afternoon, when I sucked air again (white smoke), and had to call my wife to come and crank while I cracked number 3 and 4 again. Where am I getting air from? Do I need two holley pumps? The truck acts like it is sucking all of the fuel out of the lines.

Are you feeding the Holley to the stock lift pump? Is it working? are you feeding that to the stock fuel filter? Is it clogged? What's your fuel pressure at the injection pump? Do you have a fuel pressure guage?

You are definitley starving your system of fuel IF your lines are airtight.

Yuo gotta have gauges sooner or later. Might as well be now. And in the future, leave your poor wife alone. You can crack lines 3 and 4 and crank it yourself. It will start, (it'll run like s&!t, but it'll start) then get out and tighten the lines.

Mine will do the same thing. I just learned to carry a 3/4 wrench with me just in case. It doesnt bother me that it does it until it dies in the middle of a intersection... boy that was a not so fun story! :{

it's Vapor locking..... mine does the same once in a while... ... keep a 19mill wrench with ya.

i have heard of quite a few trucks doing it.

with draw straw you need to have plenty of fuel in tank because of tube going center of bottom of tank if low fuel hard acell all fuel goes to back of tank and air enters tube, not that this is your prob. but I have had this happen to me now I keep at least 1/2 tank when in play time or go ez til 1/4 tank no lower then fill up. .

I'm feeding the stock lift pump with the Holley. By the way, I just found a leak in the feed fitting of the draw straw. (Long story). I thought I got it straightened out, but today I was playing and it started surging. I quit and went back to the house, then when I went to dinner I started the truck up and it ran then stumbled and died. I cranked twice and then it started up. Restarted many times with no problem. The temperature outside dropped dramatically today also. I didn't have the injectors last winter, and no problems.

I'm thinking about swapping back to stock for the rest of the winter.

I have the draw straw & never had a problem at all with air or otherwise. I think that you may have other problems in the system. I have bigger injectors than you too. I'd check for other leaks before changing injectors... . I run my tank to empty & never have any problems at all. The carrying a wrench thing is crazy... . if you have one bad time & get caught in on coming traffic... you get the point.
